The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle and the Merano Thermal Baths
The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle in Merano span a total area of 12 hectares, bringing together exotic and Mediterranean landscapes in a natural amphitheatre, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain scenery and the nearby city of Merano.
One of the special attractions of South Tyrol is certainly the Merano Thermal Baths. This modern wellness complex, opened in December 2005, is located in the centre of the spa town. The Merano Thermal Baths cover an indoor area of 7,650 m², featuring 15 pools, 8 saunas, and steam baths, including the organic hay sauna from South Tyrol.
Canyon Rio Sass
Just 10 km away, in the heart of the town of Fondo, lies the Rio Sass Canyon, a gorge carved into the stone by the flowing waters of the stream that originates here. The canyon divides the town of Fondo in the upper Val di Non into two parts.
Since 2001, an easy and fascinating path has been built inside the ravine, equipped with walkways, suspension bridges, and stairs. As you pass between the vertical rock walls and above the gurgling waters, you will discover waterfalls, stalactites, stalagmites, and fossils. The path covers a height difference of 145 metres and includes 348 steps.
The Path of San Romedio
A unique experience to connect with nature and yourself. The Path of San Romedio is a pilgrimage route that begins in Thaur, North Tyrol, and leads to the relics of the saint in Val di Non.
This route is a spiritual and cultural attraction, blending natural beauty with faith. Named after the patron saint of pilgrims and hikers, the trail extends over 180 kilometres with a total altitude difference of 9,600 metres.
The Way of the Watchman
Peace, quiet, tranquillity, and nature await you along the San Vigilio path, following in the footsteps of the saint of the same name.
This spectacular and varied route stretches from Monte Vigilio in Val Venosta, crossing Val di Non before reaching Trento, covering a total distance of about 110 kilometres. Along the way, you will encounter locations significant to the saint’s life, including the church of San Vigilio at 1,770 metres above sea level, the highest point of the journey.
The Jacopeo d’Anaunia Path
A spiritual journey that combines faith, a passion for hiking, and a love for mountain villages. The 160-kilometre-long Jacopeo d’Anaunia path winds through Val di Non, following roads and woodland trails.
